same question as adrian! really the texture is nice! for me it seems like it's a mix with photoshop and hand made thing even without arms the little creatures made a great work :)
This one and Crabwalk were done the same way - drawing and coloring in Painter, then tweaking the colors in Photoshop and overlaying a texture I made by coloring a piece of heavy paper with markers. I should have posted the sketch, I'll add it later tonight.
Now that I'm sufficiently warmed up again, I'm going to work on a big, detailed image I've been wanting to do for a while. It might take some time to finish.
I love the whole palette of green. And the texture, markers are great for that vintage feel. I agree with Shannon, they do have expressions and seem really alive even if their faces aren't really completely there. Also, the robot kind of glows, I love that. I'm a sucker for metallic..shiny..stuff. Ehum. Anyways, looking forward to your future work.
Hi, I just found your blog through Blogger's "Blogs of Note." I'm glad I stopped by, your work is really unique. I love the little blob guys on the bottom of this one. Simple and cute.
1. Your blog design is beautiful. 2. Your work is creepy, startling, strangely poignant and very, very good. 3. When I am a world-famous science fiction writer, YOU are doing my cover art, and I will throw a prima-donna fit with my groveling publishing company until I get my way. 4. Which I will probably never get to do because they will take one look at your prodigious talent and agree immediately.

This is wonderful! I like the drawn quality and paper-like texture of your last two sketches. How were they done?

I really like how the globs of goo appear to have expressions on their faces even if they only have eyes.

I added three in-process versions of it.
